July 2021 Update
It is now July 2021… Manufacturing inventory uncertainty is the norm.
- Material costs are rising – dramatically in many cases
- Material availability North America – we are seeing shortages of basic industrial components
- Material availability Global - we are seeing shortages of basic industrial components
- Logistics – cost increases and delivery delays never seen before
Interesting times.
Frustrating times.
Challenging times.
Time to step up and rise above.
We are not called Spartan because it sounded good.
We are, deep in our collective souls, Spartans.
Spartan Sling will not willingly fail in our mission to ensure that our customers have the rigging materials that they require to safely complete their missions. We are a minimum of 3 vendors deep in all products that we utilize in production or sell from the shelf. In most instances we have 5 vendors to choose from.
We have invested (significantly) in our inventory in order to have what you need when you need it and to help keep costs down. I would urge customers to take the time to investigate their rigging inventory and replace damaged rigging now, while costs continue to be reasonable. If possible, look a little further down the road and consider buying rigging materials ahead of time. We have been told by our vendors that industry cost prices will increase by 20% to 25% as a minimum across the board, starting around the middle of July through early August.

Slingmaker Position Opening
Spartan Sling Mfg Inc (Oldcastle Ontario; Canada) is looking for at least one (1) apprentice slingmaker. The successful applicant(s) will be highly motivated self starters. A strong mechanical background is ideal.
Duties will include:
- Fabrication of wire rope slings - alloy chain lifting slings - custom lifting assemblies
- Filling of customer rigging component orders
- Shipping & receiving
- Shop Maintenance
- Deliveries
After learning & mastering the above duties, the employee will be trained to inspect overhead lifting rigging. This consists of in house training to start, followed by external OEM training.
